2003 Tour of Gardens Event
June 27 & 28

This year marks our 3rd Anniversary. We have thus far, featured over fifteen distinctly different gardens in the Clear Lake area! We will add five more beautiful gardens on this year's tour. In fact, this tour is becoming so popular that the next five years of Tours are already booked with volunteer gardens!

This year we are excited to be adding a Garden Social to the Event. This special party will be held on Friday night prior to the Tour to get everyone in a festive spirit. This event will take place from 6 - 8 p.m. at the home of David and Twila Okerlund in their beautiful sprawling gardens. David will provide an entertaining story telling on "Chautauqua". There will be music, hors d'oeuvres & sweets and will even include a featured Artist. It promises to be a memorable evening to enjoy wonderful conversations with old and new friends.
Tickets will be $20, which will include a ticket for the Tour of Gardens on Saturday.

The featured gardens for the 2003 tour are:

David and Twila Okerlund, 430 14th Avenue

Michael and Liz Denhartog, 1410 Willow Street

Paul and Terry Carman, 710 N. 11th Street

Jay and Kim Kvigne, 2210 16th Ave. North

Ted and Theresa Klein, 205 N. 10th Street

Saturday will be the much-anticipated Tour of Gardens. Each of the gardens has been selected for their unique qualities and attention to details. Some garden highlights this year will include an enclosed butterfly garden, a willow structures, fountains and unusual visual effects. There will be something for everyone and great ideas to take to your own gardens. Tickets for the Saturday tour are $10.

Tickets for both events will be pre-sold at these Clear Lake retailers: Larson's Mercantile, Lucy Longs, The Red Geranium and the Arts Center. On the day of the Tour, tickets will be available at the Garden sites as well as the above retailers.
